'THE NEXT BIG THING’ BLOG HOP

Liliana Soare has invited me to join ‘The Next Big Thing’ blog hop (Thank you, Liliana). The way this blog hop works is for each author to answer the questions about their most current book. It is my turn now to answer a set of ten questions. I warmly encourage you to visit Jade Kerrion's page next Wednesday the 24th October to find out a little more about her novel.
Here comes my own interview:

1. What is the title of your book?
Bed & Breakfast next to the Pink Roses Hotel.

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
One evening, I was driving my car, all alone, and I was thinking randomly about a thousand things. Then, all of a sudden, a few words came into my mind: "No one asked, so no one was told..." And I thought: "Wouldn't they make a wonderful beginning for a novel?" But I'd never been patient enough to write anything lengthy, so I didn't take my own thought too seriously. However, some days later, those words were still in my head, urging me to write them on a piece of paper, which I did. And there they remained, staring at me from the white sheet, until I decided I wanted to read the words that followed those. And in order to be able to do that, I had to write them first, of course!

3. What genre does your book fall under?
I like to think it is romance+mystery.

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I think I would like to have unknown actors to play my characters.

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
This book includes two romantic mystery novellas: "Bed & Breakfast next to the Pink Roses Hotel" and "In Red".

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
My book was self-published on Amazon.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It took me over a year to write the book. There wasn't a first draft. Both stories included in this book evolved while I was writing, so for me the process was pretty much like reading, since everyday I discovered new things I hadn't previously planned.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I wouldn't really know. I'm sure my writing is influenced by many other things I've read before, but not in a conscious way.

9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Both novellas included in this book were inspired by an initial idea that popped into my head, which I decided to develop. I began writing them, convinced that I would become bored and wouldn't have the patience to finish them, but it turned out that I enjoyed "discovering" these two stories, getting to know the characters in them and finding out what happened to them in the end.

10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
The way each heroine finds love while solving her own personal chaos.
